Who Is at Risk for Giardiasis?

Anyone can get giardiasis. People more likely to become infected include:

  • Children who attend daycare centers, including diaper-aged children
  • Parents of infected children

  • Backpackers, hikers, and campers who drink unfiltered, untreated water
