Typhoid ImmunizationPart of typhoid immunization involves getting vaccinated against the illness. Two types of vaccine are used: a shot that contains killed Salmonella typhi bacteria and a vaccine containing a live but weakened strain of Salmonella bacteria. Typhoid immunization should be considered by people traveling to a country where the illness is common. However, watching what you eat and drink can also help.
